| | Crystal Method - Community Service | ] | Last night saw our, 3rd, 4th or maybe 5th trip down to Sheffield Arena this year, however, last night was different. It was different, 'cos we won! Yes, we beat the 'Steeler Family', in their own shed! That's an ambition to cross off my list!
Celebrations were celebrated, songs were sung, and the YMCA was performed at 100mph.......erm, it was 70mph - honest, officer.
Sheffield Steelers 2 Newcastle Vipers 4
Tonight the Vipers take on Basingstoke at Basingstoke...I think that's almost in Spain, so we're not going, tomorrow, they're back home and taking on Cardiff Devils at the arena.
In other news, the good thing that I've mentioned previously is once again back on........let's just say no more house hunting :)
Back down South again later today, for some Mutate related action in Leeds.
It seems Live Journal has been upgraded, I got to use rich-text without having to click on post a couple of times....hmm, either that or there's a bug in Firefox that's been fixed. So, a big hurray to that as well!
Infest is still failing to impress, which is a shame, don't really want to miss one, 'cos we've been to them all since 2001. I've done some web 'research' and had a listen to some of the bands playing...and....still not impressed, given Stromkern's album a go, since I've only every heard 'Stand Up' in clubs (which is bouncy enough), but the rest of the album is pretty unexciting....can't help thinking about 'Rock me Amadeus' every time the bloke sings!
There are still a few bands to be announced......Covenant are playing UK in May....but doubt they'll play twice in 2 years. Lab4 are also back touring...as much as I'd like to see the trads 'poi-ing' to them and enjoy the controversy that would follow, I can't really see that somehow! There's also Nitzer Ebb and Gary Numan. Hmmm. Anyway, by the time August comes round we should be all grown up, with a mortgage and responsibilities...so we'll probably be skint anyway.
Dark City in Edinburgh, is looking like a bit more interesting, Suicide Commando and Soman stand out so far...which is 2 more bands than Infest!
If only Hands would do a fest here....ooh, that would be grand |
