| | sleepy | ] | Went to see Nachtmahr in Edinburgh on Saturday, first time we've gone to a different country to see a band and they were rather bloody good. The support - Kommand Kontrol were nowt special though. It snowed on Monday! Yay, that must mean it's almost Xmas, it also means it's nearly my Birthday, but since I passed 21 a while ago *ahem*, I think I'll give it a miss this year. |

Went to see Tim Minchin last night. Oh how we laughed. Laughed like this 'ha ha ha ha' and a bit of 'hee hee hee hee' Incredibly talented guy, I know nothing about Piano's, but was amazed with the stuff he was playing.
Going to see Stanton Warriors on their Stanton Sessions tour thingy tomorrow night. First time going to a Breaks night thing, so not quite sure what to expect. Not even quite sure what to wear and how do you dance to that stuff?? Ohh, so many questions. I do know there'll be bass. So I might just slouch in a corner somewhere while my teeth rattle in my head. Mmmm, bass.
Had an eye test today as it's been at least 20yrs since my last one and that was at schoool. Decided that due to my exciting life in IT and the fact that I'm staring at a monitor for much of the day it was a good idea to get one done. I had almost convinced myself I'd needed glasses and was almost picking out the ones I wanted when I got a clean bill of eye-health for the princely sum of 25 English Pounds. Oh well, at least I know my eyes work and I can read some small letters from quite a distance away. |

Today I mostly don't feel very well at all. What started out as a visually pretty yet un-productive work-wise migraine has turned into some kind of cheeky cold, that's sort of lingering in my head and threatening to burst out at any moment.
In better news Faderhead tickets arrived yesterday. Waiting for Nachtmahr tix to turn up now, then possibly going to get yet more tickets for the Grendel gig. Tickets, tickets, tickets.
I have decided to play with Livejournal and abandon Facebook for the time-being, mainly 'cos I'm frightened of Bejewelled. |

Is it the weekend yet? It should be 'cos this week is dragging by and it's only bloody Tuesday.
Off to Leeds on Saturday for one of our now rare excursions to Wendy House. I've actually managed to persuade some mates to come along with us, so there's a car-full travelling down on Saturday night for Mutatey-bounce-bounce action. Can't wait, it's been toooo long.
Managed to get standing tickets for the Prodigy at last hurrah. After being sold out for a good few months, they magically became available again...strangely coinciding with the release of the new single. Hmm, Ticketmaster works in mysterious ways. They better be standing, after the disaster we had when we went to 'see' them at Sheffield Academy!
I'm pondering signing up with Twitter, 'cos it seems to be the new darling of technology and all the cool kids are using it. I'm in two minds though, it sounds interesting, but is it just going to be another thing that gets in the way of CD shopping and Ebay...myspace/facebook/twitter...hmmm. I think I'll sleep on that one before I take the plunge and become a twit....which I guess is what users are likely to call themselves?
I'm currently amused by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlZpSd2lRJQ It almost tempted me to take up religion. I would but I play hockey on a Sunday.
Going on in my head today, amongst other things that aren't really publicy revealable is the strange desire to re-design some old web sites..only thing stopping me..is laziness and the lack of webspace. Geocities aka the space that comes with BT accounts no longer allow FTP, so you have to use some crappy web-based thingy to upload files, which quite frankly is bobbins.
Found out yesterday that the Blue Man Group are doing a show at Newcastle Arena in a few months. Had a quick look on Youtube and their show looks amazing. They bash the bejeezus out of stuff and make a wonderful noise...tickets on sale Saturday.

Ain't technology great? |

| | mischievous | ] | In a break from being responsible parents, we're heading off down the A1 on Saturday for our first Wendy House in....*counts*....erm...over a year! Wahey! Little Nim is having a night at her grandparents...a well earned break from us!
Been a long time since I've updated, not much has really happened. The Ice Hockey season has started again and Newcastle are currently unbeaten, only 2 games played..but might as well enjoy the success while it lasts...if last season is anything to go by..it won't last very long.
Dek hockey is going well. We've recently got a sponsor who're getting us some shirts. Which is nice. All we need now is some opposition!
A month of so ago I got scr3w3d over at work with regards to promotion....but a compromise was reached.
I'm currently preparing for a 1 yr olds Pirate Fancy Dress party......I'm being Jack Sparrow....'cos I'm original like that. Currently finding it difficult to get my mits on a cheap pirate shirt...probably 'cos Whitby is coming up and all the Goff's will be after some new frilly garments to sway around in.
I'm now a 'proud' owner of a Rover 25. The Fiesta finally gave up the ghost and sadly I gave it up to be scrapped...on the advice that it was dangerous and shouldn't be driven...consequently it was sold...hmmm.....relatives have such strange advice to give. So after many years of taking the mick out of Rovers and their attractive 'wooden' dash features. I now drive one. Justified because I'm knocking on a bit and a Daddy.....and I haven't saved up enough for a Fiesta ST yet! On the plus side it goes like a rocket!
Tickets recently booked for Marilyn Manson in Manchester, Digitalism in Newcastle, Bill Bailey in Newcastle, Ross Noble in Newcastle....but not Foo Fighters in Newcastle..'cos the fecking thing sold out. Nobody sells out Newcastle Arena....ever...unless they're a boyband. So that was a bit sucky. It was even more sucky to discover many, many pages of Foo standing tickets for sale on Ebay....from Sellers in London........scamming b'stards. On the plus side, it was on November 5th, so now we can go and see fireworks after all. Yay.
Sunday see's the QE2 float up the Tyne, so I think we'll be popping along to have a look at that. There's going to be day time fireworks, so that should be interesting to see. |
